This past February I presented a series of my “Fun With Freaky Fractals and Digital Media” workshops to several 5th grade classes from four area elementary schools as a part of the LEARN Regional Educational Service Center’s ‘We Make Mouse Calls’ interdistrict program directed by program coordinator Gail Freeman. The participating schools were Oswegatchie Elementary School in Waterford, Regional Multicultural Magnet School in New London, John M. Moriarty Environmental Sciences Magnet School in Norwich and Catherine Kolnaski Magnet School in Groton. The wonderful enthusiasm and engagement of the students was an inspiring joy. Thank you to LEARN, Ms. Freeman and all the teachers, assistants and students involved.
In May I presented my workshop to students from eleven CT middle schools as a part of the Connecticut Association of Schools annual ‘Arts In The Middle’ program hosted at the University of Hartford’s Hartford Art School. Thank you to Jadwiga Herrmann-Brown and her staff at CAS, HAS technician Thomas Prutisto for his excellent technical assistance and of course to all the participating students and teaching staff for their enthusiastic engagement and support during the workshops.
